1 ORDINANCE 2 3 AN ORDINANCE annexing certain property of the City of Everett, and declaring an emergency to exist . 4 WHEREAS, pursuant to R.C .W. 35 .13 .130, a petition was 5 presented to the City Council of the City of Everett proposing the annexation of certain property, and, 6 WHEREAS, the City of Everett did approve the filing of 7 a petition for annexation and thereafter a petition pursuant to R.C .W. 35 .13 .130 signed by owners of not less than seventy-five 8 per cent in value according to the assessed valuation for general taxes of the property proposed to be annexed was filed with the 9 City of Everett, and, 10 WHEREAS, the Review Board provided by R.C .W. 35 .13.171 has approved said annexation, and, 11 WHEREAS, the Commissioners of the City of Everett, 12 a municipal corporation, did fix the 14th day of November, 1967, for hearing upon said petition, and caused notice of hearing to 13 be published in one issue of the Everett Daily Herald, a newspaper of general circulation in the city, and caused said notice also 14 to be posted in three (3) places within the territory proposed for annexation,which notice as published and as posted specified 15 the time and place of hearing and invited interested persons to appear and voice approval or disapproval of the annexation, and, 16 WHEREAS, following the hearing the Commissioners of 17 Everett, a municipal corporation, have determined to annex all of the property described in the petition as hereinafter set forth, 18 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 19 Section 1: That an emergency is hereby declared to 20 exist, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and publication. 21 Section 2: That the property hereinafter described be, 22 and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Everett upon the date of the passage and publication of this ordinance . 23 The Northwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 lying Westerly 24 of Primary State Highway No . 1 (also known as Inter- state Highway No. 5) , less Puget Sound Power and 25 Light Company' s right-of-way, all in Section 19, Township 28 North, Range 5 East, W.M. 26 Section 3 : That upon the annexation of the property 27 hereinabove set forth, said property thereof annexed shall become a part of Everett, a municipal corporation, and shall be subject 28 to all its laws and ordinances then and thereafter in force . 29 Section 4: That the Clerk of Everett is hereby directed upon passage of the ordinance of annexation to deliver 30 31 32
