ORDINANCE No. L71-)- 7 <br /> AN ORDINANCE levying a supplemental levy for general taxes for the <br /> City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1968. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly adopted, <br /> as required by law, the estimate of the amounts required to meet the public <br /> expense of said City for the ensuing year and the amount to be raised by <br /> taxation in said City for said ensuing year, and <br /> WHEREAS, the County Assessor has advised the City of Everett as to the <br /> limitation of its levy and in so doing has interpreted Section 2, Chapter 146, <br /> Extraordinary Session Laws of the State of Washington, 1967, to mean that <br /> the levy shall be based upon the last year's tax levy, less all deletions that <br /> should have been made during the year 1966, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commissioners believe said formula to be incorrect, <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, if the correct formula were used, there would be available to <br /> vv <br /> the City of Everett an additional $ <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That there be and is hereby levied upon real and personal <br /> property in the City of Everett, subject to taxation thereon, a general <br /> property tax for municipal purposes for the ensuing year commencing on <br /> January 1, 1968, an additional tax levy of $ 6 60.,_1 av, allocated as <br /> follows: <br /> General Current Expense Fund $ �� 4.6-t Oz- <br /> Section 2: That these said taxes shall be collected and paid to the City <br /> Treasurer at the same time and in the same manner provided by the Laws <br /> of the State of Washington relating to collection of taxes in cities of the <br /> first class. <br /> �) 7)- Q --t— <br /> Mayo r <br /> Attest: <br /> //He:, <br /> City Clerk Comptroller <br /> Passed: /0 - / 7 —67 <br /> Published: / 0 -/ F -'4o 7 <br />
