ORDINANCE NO. `f�1 AN ORDINANCE declaring anemergency to exist and creating additional positions in the Traffic Engineering Dept. , Paint Department, Strebt Department, Communications Dept. , Park Department, Fire Department, Engineering Dept. and Police Department, and allocating additional funds for salaries and wages, maintenance and operation and capital outaly, for said departments in addition to that amount budgeted for the year 1967. WHEREAS, at the time of the making of the budget for the year 1967, it could not reasonably have been ascertained that additional funds would be available to the City of Everett from appropriations by the Legislature of the State of Washington, and WHEREAS, unanticipated growth of the City of Everett has created problems that could not have been reasonably foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the year 1967, requiring the employment of additional personnel and acquisi- tion of capital assets, and WHEREAS, an emergency exists requiring that additional employees be secured for the City of Everett, and additional funds be allocated for their employment and that additional capital expenses be incurred to meet said change in conditions, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: Section 1: That an emergency is hereby declared to exist. Section 2: That the following additional positions are hereby created in the following departments in addition to those already set forth in the budget and salary ordinance for the City of Everett for the year 1967: Traffic Engineering Dept. 1 Civil Engineer 700. Painting Department 1 additional painter 515 - 535 Street Department 16 additional utility laborers 465 - 485 Communications Department 2 additional 3rd class technicians 546 - 584 2 additional apprentices 2.35 hr. Fire Department 10 additional first year firemen 531 - 542 Police Department 17 additional patrolmen 5th class 531 - 542
