February 6th, 2018 G-4588
2525 Taylor Drive Page 2
GEO Group Northwest recommends using three or more different species of native plants for restoration
of vegetation in the revegetation area,to be planted in parts of the slope that do not already contain
existing,non-invasive vegetation. Some options for native plants that should grow well in the region
include:
• Sword Ferns
• Brakken Ferns
• Oregon Grape
• Saint John's Wort
• Red Currant
• Clover
These plants should improve the stability of the slope while mitigating erosion, but will take time to grow
and establish root systems. Also, being all shrubs or low-growing vegetation, these plants should not
grow excessively large to block the coastal view afforded by the property. Guidelines and best practices
described in local nursery publications or advised by qualified plant specialists, such as spacing
recommendations specific to plants used, should be followed in addition to those provided in this report
when developing a revegetation plan and administering planting of the plants.
If the steepness of the slope severely limits accessibility on the slope and makes planting difficult,GEO
Group Northwest recommends hydroseeding the revegetation area with native plant species seed mixes as
an alternative to the recommendations described previously.
We appreciate the opportunity to provide geotechnical consulting services for this project. Feel free to
contact us for questions regarding this report.
Sincerely,
GEO GROUP NORTHWEST,INC.
NoA
ffr
David Crawford,KITW ASS,, fir'
Staff Engineer
r r✓"
sTs -
William Chang,P.E, • 6/Ot \,
Principal
GEO Group Northwest,Inc.
