July 12, 2005
Mr. Pete Sikov
PO Box 22286
Seattle, WA 98122
Dear Mr. Sikov:
This letter is in response to your request to this department for a list of
alternative uses of your properties. Upon trying to formulate such a list, it
becomes evident that the combination of existing variables and unknowns
with the complexities of the Code and Sprinkler Ordinance gets
complicated.
It is the role of the city to provide 3rd party review of proposed
construction projects for compliance with the State Building Code and
Everett's Sprinkler Ordinance. State law requires many of these proposals
to be prepared by licensed architects and engineers. Whereas, the city
staff does attempt to assist property owners with construction and code
questions, the preparation of a matrix of your properties showing existing
and alternative uses is beyond the scope possible given the service
demands of other customers and the limitations placed on the city as a 3rd
party reviewer
Sincerely,
Steve Miller
Associate Engineer
DEDI/MILLER/LTR P.SIKOV(PROPERTY USES)
