R • <br /> ORDINANCE NO. ) .11-4-,%W <br /> AN ORDINANCE dealing with compensation for overtime pay and <br /> establishing holidays for firemen and policemen and amending <br /> Section 1.28.020, Everett City Code. (Ordinance No. 3409) <br /> Section 1: That Everett City Code 1.28.020 is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> 1.28.020 Firemen and Policemen--Holidays. For the purpose of this section <br /> holidays shall be considered as those days hereinafter set forth and <br /> designated by specific calendar days: <br /> New Years Day, January 1 <br /> Lincoln's Birthday, February 12 <br /> George Washington's Birthday, February 22 <br /> Memorial Day, May 30 <br /> July 4 <br /> Labor Day, first Monday in September <br /> Columbus Day, October 12 <br /> Veterans Day, November 11 <br /> Thanksgiving Day, fourth Thursday in November <br /> Christmas Day, December 25 <br /> Any State General Election Day <br /> Any fireman, except the chief of the fire department, who shall <br /> commence or end his regular shift of work on any of the holidays <br /> hereinabove designated shall be entitled to pay, in addition to his <br /> regular monthly pay, for each eight hours of work performed during <br /> said day, a sum equal to one twenty-first of his monthly salary. <br /> Any policeman, except the chief of the police department, who shall <br /> commence his regular shift of work on a legal holiday hereinabove <br /> designated and shall complete his eight hours of work, whether on <br /> said day or on the following day, shall be entitled, in addition to his <br /> monthly pay, to a sum equal toone twenty-first of his monthly salary. <br /> Any policeman commencing his Regular shift on a day other than a <br /> legal holiday and finishing his shift on a holiday shall receive no <br /> additional compensation. <br /> Mayor i <br /> Attest: <br /> D T`-ity Clerk-Comptroller <br /> Passed: & 7 <br /> Published: '/S�"(o <br />
