It appears that all four of the exterior walls are CMU, which means that the wall adjacent to the stairs is required to be insulated with minimum R-21 insulation. The minimum thickness for batt insulation to achieve R-21, is 5.1/2`x. Show the furred walls in all locations that are enclosed by a CMU wall. 10.
