These <br /> comments address building issues only. Additional revisions or additions may be rewired by other <br /> departments such as Utilities, Planning or Fire. All references refer to the 2015 Intemaional Building <br /> Code (IBC), 2015 International Residential Code (IRC), as amended by the State cf Washington <br /> and/or Washington State Energy Code (WSEC) 2015 Edition, as adopted by the C_y of Everett, <br /> unless stated otherwise. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue,it will be necessa y to provide <br /> the Building Division with two new complete sets of drawings reflecting th( corrections <br /> requested. <br /> Construction documents shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature <br /> and extent of the work proposed and show in detail that it will conform to Pre <br /> provisions of the building code and relevant laws,ordinances, rules and reg ilations. <br /> 1. Provide details for one-hour fire-resistance rated construction for the floor ceillg assembly <br /> separating the dwelling units and for the walls supporting the one-hour assem ily per <br /> R302.3 and R302.3.1 IRC. <br /> 2. The"Building Elements"notes on Sheets A-8.1 and A-8.2 show: <br /> a. VAULT CEILING: R-38 BATT NSULATION. The WSEC allows insulation in sin le rafter-or <br /> joist-vaulted ceilings to be reduced to R-38. Scissor trusses are required to ham R-49 <br /> insulation unless they rare raised heel trusses. <br /> b. EXTERIOR WALL CONSTRUCTION: The new walls on the second floor are referenced as <br /> the same type of wall as the existing walls on the first floor. The first floor beaing walls are <br /> required to be one-hour fire-resistance rated (see correction #1 above). Provic different <br /> designation for new walls and existing walls.
