EVOLUTION
FIELD REVIEW REPORT 01
ARCHITECTURE
Project : Gunderson Building Field Review Date: 07/19/18
Client: The Everett Clinic Report Date: 07/26/18
Report By: Ralph Allen
Attendance: Craig Kuanoni,Evolution(EA);Ralph Allen,Evolution(EA);George Bruce,
We met on site prior to the regular meeting to review the field conditions relating primarily to the WRB application with
the existing windows remaining in place and other related field conditions as noted below:
Field Notes#01 Comments:
WRB application/ 10 year The 10-year warranty applies to those areas where the approved system is
warranty applied. In the instance where the existing windows are left in place and
WRB materials are not able to be applied, the warranty will exclude these
elements as they may relate to any contribution to any future failure. The
likelihood of failure at the existing window rough opening is minimal in
these circumstances where the vast majority of the windows are well
recessed into the interior wall.
Return wall condition at recessed We agreed to reduce the insulation thickness at the return wall to 1"or as
windows and Prosoco application required to allow for a face out 1/4"sealant joint at the jamb conditions.
at jamb returns This may apply to the head return condition depending on individual
dimensional circumstances.
The framing at these conditions should also be coated with Prosoco liquid
flashing to supplement the termination at these locations.
Sloped Sill No rigid insulation is required at the sloped sill, allowing the specified
metal cladding to fit existing conditions—A field mock up will be
implemented prior to installation.
Wall insulation There are areas of the existing wall where there is either no insulation or
the original installation has fell of into the interstitial cavity leaving areas
of the existing wall uninsulated. Contractor shall install new batt
insulation matching the existing materials in all areas where it is missing
and re-attach existing materials with an industry acceptable method.
Contractor has brought in a specialist sub to implement this segment of the
work.
Conditions at MRI coolant line We agreed that the existing vertical supports would remain at their current
cover datum of approximately 1.5"above the top of the cover—the gap over the
cut EIFS will be filled with foam insulation and the new cap flashing will
be adjusted accordingly.
Sign box The existing sign box needs to be removed and the new EIFS system
installed intact at this area. Any reinstallation or new signbox will need to
be mounted on targets on top of the new EIFS system.
We request that the Owner's signage contractor is brought to the table to
establish the remounting requirement.
Canopy flashing and existing • A new through wall drainable flashing will be installed over the
EIFS peak roof condition at the existing canopies.
• We are anticipating that the new roof cladding will be all metal
eliminating the current kalwall materials.
6264 ELLIS AVE S,SEATTLE,WA 98108 INFO@EVOLUTIONARCHITECTURE.NET
