71 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. /gi <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Section 25 of Ordinance No. 4121 <br /> being an ordinance fixing and determining the number, des;ignatiox <br /> and compensation of various officers , assistants, deputies and <br /> employees of the City of Everett, and declaring an emergency to <br /> exist . <br /> WHEREAS, the Utilities Accountant in the City of <br /> Everett is about to retire, and <br /> WHEREAS, a diligent search has been made for persons <br /> who will be qualified to hold such position, and <br /> WHEREAS, it has been determined that a qualified <br /> person can not be secured at the pay schedule now established <br /> for said position and it is necessary that the pay schedule for <br /> such position be increased in order to secure a competent person <br /> to take said position, and <br /> WHEREAS, it is proposed that an additional accountant <br /> be employed two months before the retirement of the present <br /> accountant . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1: That an emergency is hereby declared to <br /> exist for the reason that the City is unable to secure a Utilities <br /> Accountant at the pay schedule established by Ordinance No. 4121 . <br /> Section 2 : That Section 25 or Ordinance No . 4121 is <br /> hereby amended to read as follows : <br /> Section 25: WATER DEPARTMENT <br /> The number, designation and compensation of <br /> employees in the Water Department shall be as <br /> hereinafter set forth. <br /> It shall be the duty of such employees to perform the <br /> duties pertaining to said department as directed <br /> by the Water Superintendent or the Commissioner of <br /> Public Works of the City of Everett . <br /> 1 Water Superintendent $1050.00 per mo. <br /> 1 Asst.
