Provide fertilizer, weed control, water, and other measures as necessary <br /> 2 to establish and maintain a healthy stand of grass. <br /> 13 <br /> 4 8-02.3(11) Mulch <br /> 5 Mulches associated with seeding and planting shall be of the type specified in the <br /> I <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Special Provisions or as indicated in the Plans. The Contractor shall evenly apply <br /> mulch at the rates indicated in the Plans. Mulches shall not be placed below the <br /> 8 anticipated water level of ditch slopes, pond bank slopes, and stream banks, or in <br /> 9 areas of standing or flowing water. <br /> I 10 <br /> 11 8-02.3(11)A Mulch for Seeding Areas <br /> 12 The Contractor shall furnish and evenly apply Hydraulically Applied Erosion <br /> 13 Control Product (HECP) Long Term Mulch at the rates indicated and in <br /> I 14 accordance with the Manufacturer's specifications unless otherwise specified. <br /> 15 <br /> I 16 HECP Long Term Mulch shall be hydraulically applied at the rate of 3500 pounds <br /> 17 per acre with no more than 2000 pounds applied in any single lift. HECP mulch <br /> 18 shall not be used within the Ordinary High Water Mark. <br /> 19 <br /> I20 Mulch sprayed on signs or sign Structures shall be removed the same day. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 Areas not accessible by mulching equipment shall be mulched by accepted <br /> I 23 hand methods. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 HECP Long Term Mulch may be applied with seed and fertilizer west of the <br /> I 26 summit of the Cascade Range. East of the summit of the Cascade Range, seed <br /> 27 and fertilizer shall be applied in a single application followed by the application of <br /> 28 mulch. <br /> 29 <br /> I <br /> 30 8-02.3(11)B Bark or Woodchip Mulch <br /> 31 The Contractor shall apply bark or wood chip mulch of the type and depth <br /> 32 specified where shown in the Plans or as specified in the Special Provisions. <br /> I 33 <br /> 34 The Contractor shall complete final grading and placement/incorporation of soil <br /> 35 amendments within the planting area prior to placement of mulch. Areas receiving <br /> I 36 bark mulch shall be bare soil or vegetation free before application, except where <br /> 37 trees and other plants are specifically identified in the Plans or designated by the <br /> 38 Engineer to be saved and protected. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 Bark or wood chip mulch shall be placed to a uniform non-compacted depth of 3 <br /> 41 inches over all planting areas unless otherwise specified. Mulch shall be feathered <br /> 42 to the base of the plant and 1 inch below the top of junction and valve boxes, <br /> I 43 curbs, and pavement edges. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Any contamination of the mulch due to the Contractor's operations shall be <br /> I 46 corrected to its former condition at no additional cost to the Contracting Agency. <br /> 47 Mulch placed to a thickness greater than specified shall be at no additional cost to <br /> 48 the Contracting Agency. <br /> 49 <br /> 50 The Contractor shall keep plant material crowns, runners, and branches free of <br /> 51 mulch at all times. <br /> I City of EverettPage AM 99 Amendments <br /> Everett Station 80 Stall Parking Expansion June 2019 <br /> I <br />
