1 The Contractor, with the Engineer, shall inspect the exposed concrete deck to establish the <br /> g <br /> 2 extent of bridge deck repair in accordance with Section 6-09.3(6). <br /> 3 <br /> 4 6-08.3(8)A Structure Deck Preparation <br /> 5 The second sentence of the last paragraph is revised to read: <br /> 6 <br /> 7 Prior to applying the primer or sheet membrane, all dust and loose material shall be <br /> 8 removed from the Structure Deck. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Section 6-09, Modified Concrete Overlays <br /> 11 January 7, 2019 <br /> 12 6-09.3 Construction Requirements 1 <br /> 13 This section is supplemented with the following new subsection: <br /> 14 <br /> 15 6-09.3(15) Sealing and Texturing Concrete Overlay <br /> 16 After the requirements for checking for bond have been met, all joints and visible cracks <br /> 17 shall be filled and sealed with a high molecular weight methacrylate resin (HMWM). Cracks <br /> 18 1/16 inch and greater in width shall receive two applications of HMWM. Immediately <br /> 19 following the application of HMWM, the wetted surface shall be coated with sand for <br /> 20 abrasive finish. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 After all cracks have been filled and sealed and the HMWM resin has cured, the concrete <br /> 23 overlay surface shall receive a longitudinally sawn texture in accordance with Section 6- <br /> 24 02.3(10)D5. <br /> 25 I 26 Traffic shall not be permitted on the finished concrete until it has reached a minimum <br /> 27 compressive strength of 3,000 psi as verified by rebound number determined in accordance <br /> 28 with ASTM C805 and the longitudinally sawn texture is completed. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 6-09.3(1)B Rotary Milling Machines <br /> 31 This section is revised to read: <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Rotary milling machines used to remove an upper layer of existing concrete overlay, when <br /> 34 present, shall have a maximum operating weight of 50,000 pounds and conform to Section <br /> 35 6-08.3(5)B.
