City of Everett 01 42 00 - 1 <br /> 3600 Smith Street Clean Up <br /> SECTION 01 42 00 - REFERENCES <br /> ' PART 1 - GENERAL <br /> 1.1 ORGANIZATION AND FORMAT OF SPECIFICATIONS <br /> ' A. Division and paragraph numbers, as listed in the"Table of Contents"of the Specifications <br /> Book and the Items of Work included under the headings generally conform with the <br /> "Uniform Construction Index" of the Construction Specifications Institute (C.S.I.). <br /> ' Numbering of paragraphs and divisions, and trade headings are merely for convenience <br /> and identification, and may not be consecutive. <br /> 1.2 NUMBER OF SPECIFIED ITEMS REQUIRED <br /> A. Wherever in these Specifications an article, device or piece of equipment is referred to <br /> ' in the singular number, such reference applies to all and as many such articles as are <br /> shown on the Drawings or required to complete the installation. <br /> 1.3 SPECIFICATIONS OF MANUFACTURER <br /> A. Wherever in these Specifications an article, device or piece of equipment is referred to <br /> ' by the Manufacturer Model Number, Serial Number of Manufacturer's standard product <br /> indication, and the specification of that article, device or piece of equipment shall hereby <br /> be considered to be included within these Specifications. For the purposes of <br /> substitution, such specification shall be deemed to be the basis for the Owner's decision <br /> for substitution approval or disapproval. No substitutions shall be considered prior to <br /> Award of the Contract. <br /> 1.4 DEFINITIONS <br /> A. The following terms are used in the Contract Documents and are defined as follows: <br /> 1. The terms "approved" and "for approval" mean "approved by the Owner". <br /> 2. The term "coordinate" means "satisfactorily combine the Work of All Trades for a <br /> complete and operating installation". <br /> 3. The term "selected" means "as selected by the Owner." <br /> 4. The term "provide" means "furnish and install". <br /> 5. The term "Owner" means "Owner's Representative". <br /> 6. The term "directed" means "as directed by the Owner's Representatives". <br /> 7. Where the terms "or approved" and "or approved equal" are used, the Owner's <br /> ' Representative is the sole judge of the quality and suitability. <br /> 8. The term "indicated" means "as indicated in these Contract Documents". <br /> B. General: <br /> 1. Reference in the Technical Divisions of these Specifications to Standard Data of <br /> the following organizations shall mean the Latest Edition at the date noted on the <br /> i <br /> 01 42 00 - 1 REFERENCES <br />
