SALES TAX <br /> The above total amount of"Base Bid" and "Alternate Bids"(if any) do not include <br /> Washington State Sales Tax. The sales tax on taxable items will be added to the total <br /> contract price of the successful bidder. <br /> 2. OVERHEAD AND PROFIT <br /> "Base Bid" includes overhead, profit, performance and payment bonds, and all other <br /> expenses involved whatsoever. <br /> 3. TIME FOR COMPLETION <br /> Undersigned hereby agrees to begin work immediately after receiving Owner's letter of <br /> Notice to Proceed and to reach Substantial Completion within the dates required under the <br /> Contract Documents. In the event the project is not completed on or before required time <br /> periods, Bidder shall pay liquidated damages to the City as stated in the Contract (Section <br /> 005213). <br /> 4. The undersigned, as Bidder, declares that it will contract with the Owner using the Contract , <br /> form provided herewith, on the terms and conditions contained herein, to do everything <br /> necessary for construction of the project complete. <br /> 5. Undersigned agrees that the following shall form a part of this Bid: Bid Form and all 1 <br /> supplemental submittals provided at the direction of the Owner or Owner's Representative. <br /> 6. Attached is a bid bond, by a guaranty company authorized to carry on business in the state <br /> of Washington, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount of the "Base Bid" or, <br /> alternately, there is attached a certified or cashier's check payable to the City of Everett <br /> drawn upon a bank in the state of Washington, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the 111total amount of the "Base Bid". If this Proposal shall be accepted by the City of Everett, <br /> Washington, and the undersigned shall fail to execute a satisfactory contract and bond as <br /> stated in the Instructions to Bidders, hereto attached, within fourteen (14) calendar days <br /> after the award date, then the City may, at its option, determine that the undersigned has <br /> abandoned the Contract and thereupon this Contract shall be null and void, and the amount <br /> of the bid bond or certified check accompanying this Bid shall be forfeited and become the <br /> property of the City of Everett, Washington. I <br /> 7. Undersigned agrees that the Bid constitutes an offer to the Owner which shall be binding for <br /> 60 days from the date of opening of Bids. If Bid is accepted, undersigned agrees to sign 111the required agreement form and to furnish the Payment and Performance Bond on the form <br /> contained herein and evidences of insurance required herein within fourteen (14) days of <br /> receipt from the Owner of properly prepared Contract forms. <br /> 8. Undersigned certifies that, at the time of submitting this Bid and throughout the period of the ' <br /> contract, it will remain licensed by the state of Washington to perform the type of work <br /> required under the Contract Documents.
