I <br /> 1 The designation of biodegradable hydraulic fluid does not mean fluid spills are acceptable. <br /> 2 The Contractor shall respond to spills to land or water in accordance with the Contract, <br /> 3 the associated SPCC Plan, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. <br /> 4 <br /> I 5 8-01.3(1)C7 Turbidity Curtain <br /> 6 All Work for the turbidity curtain shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's <br /> 7 recommendations for the site conditions. Removal procedures shall be developed and <br /> 8 used to minimize silt release and disturbance of silt. The Contractor shall submit a Type 2 <br /> 9 Working Drawing, detailing product information, installation and removal procedures, <br /> 10 equipment and workforce needs, maintenance plans, and emergency repair/replacement <br /> 11 plans. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 Turbidity curtain materials, installation, and maintenance shall be sufficient to comply with <br /> 14 water quality standards. <br /> I 15 <br /> 16 The Contractor shall notify the Engineer 10 days in advance of removing the turbidity <br /> 17 curtain. All components of the turbidity curtain shall be removed from the project. <br /> I 18 <br /> 19 8-01.3(1)C1 Disposal of Dewatering Water <br /> 20 This section is revised to read: <br /> I 21 <br /> 22 When uncontaminated groundwater is encountered in an excavation on a project it may <br /> 23 be infiltrated within vegetated areas of the right of way not designated as Sensitive Areas <br /> 24 or incorporated into an existing stormwater conveyance system at a rate that will not cause <br /> I 25 erosion or flooding in any receiving surface water. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 Alternatively, the Contractor may pursue independent disposal and treatment alternatives <br /> I 28 that do not use the stormwater conveyance system provided it is in compliance with the <br /> 29 applicable WACs and permits. <br /> 30 <br /> I 31 8-01.3(1)C2 Process Wastewater <br /> 32 This section is revised to read: <br /> 33 <br /> 34 Wastewater generated on-site as a byproduct of a construction process shall not be <br /> I 35 discharged to surface waters of the State. Some sources of process wastewater may be <br /> 36 infiltrated in accordance with the CSWGP. Some sources of process wastewater may be <br /> 37 disposed via independent disposal and treatment alternatives in compliance with the <br /> I 38 applicable WACs and permits. <br /> 39 <br /> 40 8-01.3(1)C3 Shaft Drilling Slurry Wastewater <br /> I 41 This section is revised to read: <br /> 42 <br /> 43 Wastewater generated on-site during shaft drilling activity shall be managed and disposed <br /> I 44 of in accordance with the requirements below. No shaft drilling slurry wastewater shall be <br /> 45 discharged to surface waters of the State. Neither the sediment nor liquid portions of the <br /> 46 shaft drilling slurry wastewater shall be contaminated, as detectable by visible or olfactory <br /> 47 indication (e.g., chemical sheen or smell). <br /> I 48 <br /> 49 1. Water-only shaft drilling slurry or water slurry with accepted fioccuiants may be <br /> 50 infiltrated on-site.
