City of Everett <br /> Civil Rights and Nondiscrimination Compliance <br /> barriers to the participation of women and minorities in all levels of a recipient's workforce. Its purpose is to <br /> ensure the opportunity for full and equal participation of men and women in the workplace, regardless of race, <br /> color, or national origin. More information on the EEOP can be found at the Office for Civil Rights EEOP website. <br /> NOTIFICATION OF FINDINGS OF DISCRIMINATION OR NON-COMPLIANCE <br /> In the event a state or federal court, or a state or federal administrative agency, makes a finding of <br /> discrimination after a due process hearing on the grounds of actual or perceived race, color, national origin,sex, <br /> age, religion, disability,sexual orientation, and gender identity in programs or activities, both in employment <br /> and in the delivery of services, against the applicant or a program partner receiving grant funds,the applicant <br /> will forward a copy of the finding to the U.S. Department of Justice,Office of Justice Programs, Office of Civil <br /> Rights, and the Washington State Department of Commerce. The applicant shall include a statement clearly <br /> stating whether or not the finding is related to any grant activity supported with a grant in which U.S. <br /> Department ofJustice funds are involved,and shall identify all open grants utilizing U.S. Department ofJustice <br /> funding by grant number and program title. <br /> ACCESS TO SERVICES AND BENEFITS <br /> Applicants are encouraged to allocate grant funds to support activities that help to ensure individuals with <br /> disabilities, Deaf individuals, and persons with limited English proficiency have meaningful and full access to <br /> their programs. An LEP person is one whose first language is not English and who has a limited ability to read, <br /> write,speak, or understand English. <br /> AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT <br /> The Americans with Disabilities of 1990 prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability and it applies to both <br /> services and employment. <br /> PARTNERSHIPS WITH FAITH-BASED AND OTHER NEIGHBORHOOD ORGANIZATIONS <br /> The Department of Justice regulation entitled Partnerships with Faith-Based and Other Neighborhood <br /> Organizations, 28 C.F.R. pt.38 prohibits Department-funded social service programs from discriminating on the <br /> basis of religion in the delivery of services or benefits,and ensures that faith-based or religious organizations are <br /> able to participate in such programs on an equal basis with other organizations. <br /> The applicant shall further comply with federal and state laws prohibiting grant recipients from retaliating <br /> against individuals taking action or participating in action to secure rights protected by federal or state laws. <br /> As the duly authorized representative of the applicant, I hereby acknowledge the applicant has received notice <br /> that if awarded funding the recipient, and any subrecipients,will comply with the above requirements. <br /> Applicants unable to comply with the statutes will be prohibited from receiving these funds. <br /> i <br /> siO <br /> ignature of Agency's Authorized Official <br /> 1Office of the City Attom Cassie Franklin,Mayor <br /> a APPROVED AS TO FORM <br /> DPavid C.Hall,City Attorney <br /> Washington State STOP Formula Grant Program Renewal Application for FFY 2019 <br /> ,T�, . ifi <br /> City Clerk <br />
