Jane Zimmerman
From: Sarah Brundidge [sbrundidge@pacland.com]
Sent: Monday, September 30, 2013 10:37 AM
To: Jane Zimmerman
Cc: Gordon Witcher; Jeff Chambers
Subject: RE: Walmart proposal-Organic Waste Program( f/
j(3)/116
) 1 3 13
Jane, 1 )
As requested I am providing a summary of Walmart's organic waste storage and disposal program. This summary is
based on my conversation with Quest Recycling who manages the program nationally for Walmart (They are not the
local company who will be responsible for the Everett store).
• Walmart's organics program designates a separate container for disposal of food and organic waste. There will
be a separate enclosure on site specifically for the organics container.
• The organics container must have a lid and the lid is to be closed and locked unless they are being emptied or
store employees are disposing of waste materials.
• The container will be emptied on a weekly basis by a local company.
• The organic waste enclosure and adjacent area must be kept clean and free of waste material.Any spills or
waste outside the container must be removed and the area shall be cleaned.Any water used to clean the area
must be recaptured and properly disposed of. Disposal of waste material shall not be to the site stormwater
system.
• If the local company causes any spills while they are emptying the container they are responsible for cleaning
the area prior to leaving the site.Again any water used to clean the area must be recaptured and properly
disposed of. Disposal of waste material shall not be to the site stormwater system.
• If leaking from the container is observed the store shall notify the Quest Recycling and the leaking container will
be emptied and replaced within 24 hours.
If you have any questions or if you need additional information please let me know.
Thanks,
Sarah Brundidge
PACLAND
1505 Westlake Ave N.,Suite 305
Seattle,WA 98109
Office:(206)522-9510
Fax:(206)522-8344 -
www.pacland.com
"Confidentiality Disclaimer*
This communication, including any attachments is covered by the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, 18 U.S.C.2510-2521 and is the property of
PACLAND and may contain confidential, proprietary, and/or privileged information.
