9. Despite receiving only a fraction of its intended funding over the last 54 years, LWCF has led to <br /> the protection of land in every state, has improved access to these public lands, and has <br /> provided matching grants for the creation of more than 500 state and local park projects in <br /> Washington; and <br /> 10. Hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, paddling, and other outdoor recreation activities contribute <br /> $26.2 billion annually in consumer spending to Washington's economy and support 201,000 <br /> jobs, which generate$7.6 billion in wages and salaries and produce $2.3 billion annually in state <br /> and local tax revenue; and <br /> 11. Washington has received grants totally in $76.2 million from LWCF; and <br /> 12. The parks,trails and recreation projects dependent upon LWCF funding are green spaces that <br /> contribute to the health and well-being of Washingtonian families. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: <br /> 1) The City Council is in complete support for the full and permanent funding of the Land and <br /> Water Conservation Fund. <br /> 2) The City Council urges Congress to vote to permanently and fully fund the Land and Water <br /> Conservation Fund,given the important contributions it makes to our nation's and Washington's <br /> health, well-being, economic opportunity, and access to our nation's natural treasures. <br /> Cotcj fnember introducing resolution <br /> Passed and approved this 30 day of October , 2019. <br /> 'V <br /> Council resident <br /> E RESOLUTION Page 2 of 2 <br />
