Casino Road Agreement Legal
Amount Budgeted -0-
Expenditure Required -0- Account Number(s):
Budget Remaining -0-
Additional Required -0-
DETAILED SUMMARY STATEMENT:
At various times in the past,the City of Everett had requested and had been granted permission to attach
City-owned infrastructure(telemetry cables, street light services,etc.)on Snohomish County PUD timber
poles. Due to changes in its own need for poles in particular locations,the PUD has subsequently removed
its own facilities from particular poles, and wishes to convey ownership of these unused poles to the agency
that has facilities on the pole. The PUD is requesting the City to sign the attached agreement to that effect.
The City of Everett still has facilities on the pole referenced in the agreement. Removal of the facilities from
the pole would entail either setting a new pole and transferring the equipment or undergrounding parts of the
associated route. Either option is considerably more expensive than accepting the transfer of the pole from
the PUD and undertaking to maintain the current installation until such time as a new conveyance system
(poles,conduits)might be constructed or available. The pole in this agreement is in good condition and,
after transfer of ownership,the City would assume responsibility for the pole.
RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council):
Authorize the Mayor to sign the Agreement Transferring Ownership of Utility Pole from the Public Utility
District No. 1 of Snohomish County(PUD)to the City of Everett.
19
