2013 Budget Adjustments Tally Sheet ; - 1 Department Code Rev Exp FB GGR-9 Police Dept Re-approp-Patrol Emphasis Grant 031R 4,038 GGR-9 General Fund Re-approp-Patrol Emphasis Grant 002R 4,038 The Washington Traffic Safety Commission(WTSC)provides funding for Snohomish County law enforcement agencies to conduct traffic safety emphasis patrols. The goal is to reduce traffic related deaths and serious injuries by engaging in multijurisdictional,high-visibility patrols in the areas of impaired driving and occupant protection(seat belts). The Everett Police Department was awarded a$3,500 allocation for impaired driving enforcement and$1,600 for seat belt enforcement. Council authorized the Mayor to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the WTSC at the October 3,2012,Council meeting for this allocation. This re-appropriation carries forward the remaining grant funds of$4,038 to 2013. Increase Grant Revenue 002 3332060131 ' 4,038 Increase Grant Expenditure Budget 031 5220000120 4,038 Department Code Rev Exp FB GGR-10 Police Dept Re-approp-Bulletproof Vest Partnership 031 R 14,612 GGR-10 General Fund Re-approp-Bulletproof Vest Partnership 002R 14,612 The Bulletproof Vest Partnership,created by the Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant Act of 1998, is a U.S. Department of Justice initiative designed to provide a critical resource to state and local law enforcement. On June 7,2012,the Everett Police Department applied for funding to cover the maximum of fifty percent of the cost of 50 vests. The total cost of 50 vests is $40,950;therefore,the EPD applied for$20,475. The application was approved in full. Council authorized the Mayor to accept this award at the November 7, 2012,Council meeting. This re-appropriation carries forward the remaining grant funds of$14,612 to 2013.
