i
I5.3 Conveyance System Analysis and Design
I The project mnveyance system consists of an 8-inch and 12-inch diameter closed drainage pipe
system that rnnnec[s to a city 18-inch storm sewer pipe in Tower Street. See Appendix A,
Exhibit 2.
I The Rational Method was used to check peak flow capacity and size mnveyana: pipes.
PrecipiWtion intensity vaiues were taken from the City of Everett Starmwaler/danagement
Manual, Figure 1-5.1 (see Appendix A, Exhibit 8). The maximum values were used for
conservancy. All dranage basins were calc.ulated based on a minimum time of concentration of
6.3 minutes. The individual pipe runs were calculated by Manning's Equation (basin calculations
and printouts are included below). See Appendix A, Exhibit 5 for Conveyance Basin Map and
Exhibit 6 for Pipe Conveyance Map.
The pipe system was checked for minimum velaity for the 25-year stortn. All system
components have a design velocity of at least 2 fps for the design stortn. Pipe capaciry was
analyzed for capacity for the 25-year storm. No backwater analysis was perfomied because all
pipes v lthin the system function below 50 percent depth for the 100-year storm.
1
I

1

I
I
I
I Stormwater Site Plan QQ : O
Everett Community College
Fltness Center 6
( 208221.10
iC
