i
I6.0 ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF REQUIRED SOURCE CONTROL BMPS
I This project dces not fall under any of the specific business or manufacturing groups listed in the
City oF Everett Sformwalnr Managemenf Manual. The pollutants of concern are oil and gas, and
other fluid emissions from vehicles, and the use of pesticides and herbicides for landscT;e
I maintenance. This section will also address the construction practices dealing with pllutants
other than sediments, and spill control measures. At the end of this section are a mmpleted
Construction Site Activities Checklist, and the Land Use Activities Checklist.
I6.1 Proposed Source Control
1. Warning signs (e.g.,"Dump No Waste— Dreins to Puget Sound") shall be stenciled or
Istamped on or adjacent to all storm drain inlets. Signs shall be repainted as needed.
2. Parking lots and drive aisles should be swept periodically. Special care should be taken not
Ito Flush water from the pavement surfaces into the storm drain system.
3. The use of fertilizers and herbicides shall follow the attached checklists. (See Section 10.0,
Maintenance and Operation Requirementr.)
I4. The use of pesticides shall follow the"Integrated Pest Management Plan,"attached. (See
Section 50.0, Maintenance and Operation Requirements.)
 6.2 Construction Source Control
IControl of Pollutants Other Than Sediments
Good Nousekeeping
I Operation and maintenance activities and storage and disposal practices at the construRion site
will be conducted to minimize [he potential for contamination of stormwater runoff.
Good housekeeping practices shall be maintained by the Contrac[or(s). Major equipment
maintenance will be performed at a properly pertnitted location remote from [he project site.
The project site can be used for daily maintenance activities, such as periodic oil changes, to
ensure proper operation o(the equipment and to ensure that the equipment is environmentally
I safe. Heavy equipmen[that cannot leave the project site without being hauled on a trailer or
truck can be worked on at the project site, provided that the work is performed in a designated
area of Contractor's staging area and that environmentally safe praedures are adhered to.
I Waste oil and contaminated debris will be removed From the si[e and disposed of in accordance
with applicable regulations.
I There shali be no visible sheen from petroleum producGs allowed in waters of the state or
stormwater runoff as a result of project activities.
I All of the materials used in construdion, as well as both mobile and stationary equipment, will be
considered as potential waste generation ma[erials. Potential waste, such as solvents, paints,
batteries, strong acid and alkaline wastes, and paint removers, are all considered dangerous
wastes and must be disposed of in accordance with the standards listed on the individual
icontainers.
 Stormwater Site Plan OQOO
Everett Communiry College
Fitness Centcr 7
I 208221.10
I
