This$5 million HUD grant has enabled the PSRC to lead a planning effort designed to encourage
"equitable transit communities"around transit stations within the 3 light rail corridors under the Sound
Transit long range plan. Since Everett is located along the north corridor, the City has been actively
participating in the GTC planning program. The PSRC has released a draft of Corridor Action Strategies for
public comment. Staff will brief the City Council to provide more information about the strategies and what
they may require of the City in the future.
No action is required by the City Council at this time. Staff will discuss potential future actions the City may
need to address in the future related to Growing Transit Communities.
RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council):
1
