As you are probably aware, lhe initiai redevelopment phase is a gravity sewer system. Subsequent development
wes of Phase 1 will require a pump station. The Port underslands that the future pump station will be required to meet
City standards—backup generator, elc.—in order (or the City to assume ownership and maintenance of the overall
system.
It has been the Port's understanding, since our inilial master planning eHorts, that the sewer system serving the bulk o(
the site would be a public system—not unlike the tuture public water system.
The Crafisman District, the northern developmenl area, will reiy on a small 2" sewer pump system. The Port recognizes
that this system will not meet City slandards and will require the Port to retain ownership and mainlenance.
Please advise if a meeting vould be helpful.
Thanks, Larry
From: Kirk Brooks [mailto:KBrooks@ci.everett.wa.us]
Sent: Wednesday, ]uly O5, 2006 11:25 AM
To: Larry Crewford
Cc: Tom Thetford; Mark Sadler
Subject: RE: NMR Sewer Sys[em
Larry,
We will be having an inlernal discussion on this tornorrov. For ihe reasons I mentioned at the meeting, the Port is u.,ier lhe opinion that the
system should be the City's. Of speci(ic relevance, is the fact that there wili ultimately be some 660 residential condo
units ihat will expecl sa(e and unintrrupted water and sewer service.

7/31 /OOG
