The immediate goal of the program is to stimulate Washington's economy by <br /> creating jobs. The long-term goal is to reduce energy costs at the state's public education facilities and local <br /> agencies. <br /> The City submitted a grant application comprised of projects totaling$767,763. These projects consisted of <br /> heating and cooling system upgrades in three buildings(Evergreen Branch Library,William E. Moore <br /> Historic City Hall, and Everett Performing Arts Center). The City will receive $191,949 from the <br /> Washington State Department of Commerce toward this effort. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the Interagency Agreement with the Washington State Department of <br /> Commerce for Energy Efficiency Grants for Local Governments program in the amount of$191,949. <br /> 17 <br />
