VJA 98223
SubJect: Existing Warehpue StcucNre
2205 Wall StroG, Everett, WA
Dear Bill:
I have attachcd my evaluatiat statemrnt fa the subject strucnue. 'lie structure is ducribed on
calculation shcet 1, 'ile evaluatia procedure was bascd upon the NEHRP Handbook jor the Seismic
Evaluatron ojExisting Buildings (BSSC, 1992). My site visit was pafortned on Oc[oba 19.
I evaluated thc both the walls and roof diaphragm based on the criteria contained in the NEHRP. Hoth
proved satisfactay. 'Ihe only parntial item of signiHcance is the wall-to-roof diaphragm connection. It
appears tliat lataal load shear vansfa would benefit &om a more direct load path.
It is my undastanding that you intrnd to voluntarily re-point daaiated mortar joints. My
reinforcemrnt of the wall-to-raof diaphragm load path would also be voluntary. l lmow of no codc
requirement to accomplish this wak without a change in occvpanry,
The structure has paiormed adequately for [he past 80 years. Furtha voluntacy upgrades ro thc swcture
should be evatuated reladve ro this historv. Should you decide to procecd, l would appreciate the
opportuniry ro provide design services.
RespectfullY
 B. S(L .
 p , S.E
Principal
n..
