There have been occasional proposals for a variety of uses,but no potential buyers have <br /> been able to redevelop the property and it has remained vacant and a blight on the neighborhood. A <br /> prospective buyer has entered into a purchase and sale agreement to redevelop the property with market rate <br /> multiple family rental housing. The prospective buyer has asked the City to consider extending the property <br /> tax exemption area to include this property to make it feasible for the redevelopment of this structure and <br /> property to occur. The attached ordinance would amend the boundary of the urban center to add six blocks <br /> between 33rd Street and 36th Street, from Rucker Avenue to Colby Avenue,to the area in which the Multiple <br /> Family Property Tax Exemption authorized by RCW 84.14 would apply. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Adopt Ordinance Expanding the Multiple Family Property Tax Exemption Area and Amending Ordinance <br /> No.2347-98, as amended(EMC Chapter 3.78). <br /> 3 <br />
