a <br /> Planning Commission /��I <br /> 74 <br /> Meeting Minutes '1►^ ,, /- <br /> July <br /> July 16,2013 <br /> 8:36:44 PM <br /> Item 3: Public Hearing on amendment to the zoning code concerning off-street parking regulations for <br /> senior citizen housing. <br /> Allan Giffen, Planning Department, stated that in March planning commission agreed to initiate <br /> consideration of a code amendment to consider reducing the required off street parking for senior <br /> housing development from 1 parking space per unit to 0.75 parking space per unit in certain areas. The <br /> areas proposed are the Everett Station Overlay Zone,and the E-1 MUO (Evergreen Way—Mixed Use <br /> Overlay) zone. Background studies are included in the Commissioners packets which support the 0.75 <br /> parking standard as adequate. <br /> Chair Adams asked if there were any Planning Commission comments. There was no response. Chair <br /> Adams asked if there were any citizen comments. There was no response. <br /> Motion: Commissioner Olivers made a motion to close the public hearing. Commissioner Chase <br /> seconded the motion. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Olivers,yes; Commissioner Sand,yes;Commissioner Chase,yes; Commissioner <br /> Stewart,yes;and Chair Adams,yes. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> Motion: Commissioner Olivers made a motion to approve the resolution as presented by staff. <br /> Commissioner Stewart referred to page 3 and asked that the following be amended to read: <br /> 3. The proposed amendment promotes the best long term interests of the City. <br /> Commissioner Olivers supported the amendment and made a motion to approve. Commissioner Chase <br /> seconded the motion with the amendment. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Olivers,yes;Commissioner Sand,yes;Commissioner Chase,yes; Commissioner <br /> Stewart,yes; and Chair Adams,yes. <br /> Motion Carried. <br /> 12 <br />
