January 15, 2014 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 6:30 <br /> p.m., January 15, 2014 in the City Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall, Council President Moore presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Council Members Roberts, Moore, Murphy, Gipson, Bader, Stonecipher <br /> and Anderson were present. Mayor Stephanson was excused <br /> Council Member Stonecipher led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> The minutes of the January 8, 2014 City Council meeting were approved <br /> as printed. Council Member Stonecipher abstained from the vote. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Gipson reported on his attendance at the Martin Luther <br /> King celebration, Prodigy for Peace, at the Senior Center. He also <br /> thanked the staff and volunteers at the Carl Gipson Senior Center for all <br /> their hard work organizing his father's 90th birthday party. <br /> Council Member Roberts stated that the Transportation Policy Board of <br /> PSRC moved forward funding recommendations last week. He remarked <br /> that there was a lively discussion regarding taking money from the <br /> transportation budgets to grow transit communities. He stated that there <br /> is also continuing discussion going on for long range, high capacity, transit <br /> development, ST3. He thanked the staff members who have been <br /> working to develop an approach and a set of recommendations on behalf <br /> of the city. <br /> Council Member Murphy reported on his attendance at the monthly <br /> meeting of the Snohomish Health District Board. The meeting included <br /> the swearing in of four new board members and a review of the legislative <br /> agenda for the Washington State Association of Local Public Health <br /> Officials. <br /> Council Member Stonecipher questioned the reserved parking spaces for <br /> police and fire vehicles along the Wall Street Building on Hewitt and its <br /> impact on public parking. CAA/CFO Bryant stated that she would work <br /> with staff and report back. <br /> 6 <br />
