The grant amount, $54,339.00,has no matching fund requirement. The City was notified that the grant was approved.The grant funds will provide for the following: Patrol Vehicle Trauma Kits,Ballistic NATO Shield,Marine Operations Underwater Communications System, SOG CART Helmets, SWAT Less-Lethal Delivery System,Mobile Phone Exam System,License Plate and Undercover Cameras,Personal Flotation Devices, Strategic Planning Implementation Resources,Briefing Room Staffing and Resource Boards,Inventory Management Software, Capture Software USB Drives, Specialty Unit Training. The grant program period is October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2016. RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the necessary documents with the United States Department of Justice to accept the $54,339.00 FY 2013 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant award. 9
