The grant amount, $54,339.00,has no matching fund requirement. The City was <br /> notified that the grant was approved.The grant funds will provide for the following: Patrol Vehicle Trauma <br /> Kits,Ballistic NATO Shield,Marine Operations Underwater Communications System, SOG CART <br /> Helmets, SWAT Less-Lethal Delivery System,Mobile Phone Exam System,License Plate and Undercover <br /> Cameras,Personal Flotation Devices, Strategic Planning Implementation Resources,Briefing Room Staffing <br /> and Resource Boards,Inventory Management Software, Capture Software USB Drives, Specialty Unit <br /> Training. The grant program period is October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2016. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign the necessary documents with the United States Department of Justice to accept <br /> the $54,339.00 FY 2013 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant award. <br /> 9 <br />
