2 <br />Holdeman Annexation Staff Report — July 24 and 31, 2013 <br />The City of Everett has received a 10% petition for annexation into the City of Everett for an area along <br />19 Ave SE on the east side and north of 108a` St. SE and south of 106th St. SE. Mrs. Susan Holdeman is <br />requesting this annexation and owns 52.9 % of the assessed valuation for the area. <br />The annexation process being used is the 60 % Petition Annexation Method with ownership of at least 60 <br />% of the value of the property in the area signs a petition for annexation. <br />On July 31, 2013, at the 10% annexation petition phase City Council options under state law are: <br />1. Accept, reject or geographically modify the proposed annexation; <br />2. Decide whether to require the simultaneous adoption of a comprehensive plan; <br />3. Decide whether to require the assumption of all or any portion of existing city indebtedness. <br />After a 60% Petition is returned for City Council action the City Council will set a public hearing date <br />and then have a public hearing on the date set. If City Council accepts the 60 % Petition then the <br />annexation goes to the Snohomish County Boundary Review Board for their review and approval. The <br />last step in the City Council process is the approval of an annexation ordinance. <br />Total of assessed valuation for the annexation area: $1,143,300.00 <br />Annexation Area: 2.18 areas including right of way. <br />The annexation area facing 19 Ave SE will be zoned B-2B in the city of Everett. <br />4 <br />
