CITY OF EVERETT <br /> Type I and Type II Hood Permit Submittals <br /> Building permits for Type I or Type II hoods (submitted by architect): <br /> 1. Identification and size of Type I and Type II hoods in plan, vrall types adjacent to T�,�pe I <br /> hoods, and equipment schedule for equipment located under the Type I or II hood. Type <br /> of hood is determined per II�IC sections 507.2.1 and 507.2.2. <br /> 2. Type I hoods require roof platform if roof slope is greater lhan 3:12 per Ih1C 306.5.1. <br /> Permanent roof access for all mechanical equipment should be shown on the drawings if <br /> the roof height is greater than 16 feet, per IMC section 306.5. <br /> 3. Requests for substitution of Type I hood subject to jurisdictional approval for catering <br /> kitchens. Requires equipment wts for review, signed letter from dient, menu and number <br /> served daily to document catering kitchen (no grease cr srnoke produced on-site). <br /> 4. Elimination of Type II hood requires compl�ance wifh excep�ions to II•iC section 507.2.2. <br /> Mechanical permit for Type I hoods (submitted by hood installer): <br /> 1. Schematic installation longitudinal section through hood at !h"=P-0" indicating wall or roof <br /> exhaust of hood, make-up air and separation from exhaust on roof, dearances to and type <br /> of equipment below hood, structural support and fire protection from structure. <br /> 2. Schematic �vali elevations required for stainless steel/ceramic tile wall finishes on back and <br /> side walls extending 18 inches past Type I Hood in all directions, induding above hood <br /> cpening, per IMC 507.9. <br /> 3. Schematic cross-section through hood at Yz"=1'-0" indicating �vall clearances at back and <br /> side of hood, stud materials and fire protection per 1hiC sections SO�i3.G, 506.3.10, 507.9: <br /> a. All new installations require metal sluds. <br /> b. Existing installation required to have metal studs for new walls and meet alternace <br /> reduction methods per IMC table 308.6 2006 for existing combustible construclion. <br /> 4. Roof plan indicating separation of exhaust, make-up air, property line and parapet. <br /> 5.
