FY 2013 BVP funds became available earlier this year for purchase of compliant armored <br /> vests ordered on or after April 1,2013. Upon approval,the Everett Police Department will submit for <br /> funding to cover the maximum of fifty percent of the cost of 50 National Institute of Justice compliant vests. <br /> The total cost of the 50 vests is $37,569.00;therefore,the EPD applied for$18,784.50. That application was <br /> approved in full. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to accept the receipt of funds of the FY 2013 Bulletproof Vest Partnership award from <br /> the United States Department of Justice in the amount of$18,784.50. <br /> • <br /> 141 <br />
