The City has been awarded a 2014 <br /> grant in the amount of$23,000 to complete two tasks. The first is to hire a consultant to create a context <br /> statement of mid-century residential development in the Claremont Neighborhood and to inventory <br /> approximately 10 representative properties in the area. The second is to contract with the National Alliance <br /> of Preservation Commissions to conduct two one-day workshops on mid-century historic resources. The first <br /> workshop will be hosted by the City of Everett and coordinated by City staff. The second workshop will be <br /> held in Spokane and coordinated by City of Spokane staff. The workshops will be open to preservation <br /> commissions and staff from jurisdictions throughout Washington State. <br /> The City's application for this grant was supported by the Historical Commission. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to sign a Grant Agreement with the State of Washington Department of Archeology and <br /> Historic Preservation concerning Mid-Century historic resources. <br /> 99 <br />
