The City has been awarded a 2014 grant in the amount of$23,000 to complete two tasks. The first is to hire a consultant to create a context statement of mid-century residential development in the Claremont Neighborhood and to inventory approximately 10 representative properties in the area. The second is to contract with the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions to conduct two one-day workshops on mid-century historic resources. The first workshop will be hosted by the City of Everett and coordinated by City staff. The second workshop will be held in Spokane and coordinated by City of Spokane staff. The workshops will be open to preservation commissions and staff from jurisdictions throughout Washington State. The City's application for this grant was supported by the Historical Commission. RECOMMENDATION(Exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign a Grant Agreement with the State of Washington Department of Archeology and Historic Preservation concerning Mid-Century historic resources. 99
