INTERWEST
CONSTRUCTION
INC.
October 18th, 2019 COP 021
Ken Kettel,Resident Engineer
KBA/City of Everett
3101 Cedar Street
Everett, WA 98201
RE: COP 021: Heat Trace for 12in Sanitary Sewer Force Main
Grand Ave Pedestrian Bridge/PW 3588
Dear Ken:
Interwest Construction, Inc. (Interwest) is providing this Change Order Proposal (COP) as
requested to add a heat trace system to the project's 12in Sanitary Sewer Force Main(SSFM). This
system was not included in the Contract as there are no specifications detailing the system,
materials,measurement and/or payment.
Interwest proposes to provide additional labor, equipment, and materials as detailed below to
address the added work requested:
• Supply and install a heat trace system per Electric West COP 09 to address the response to
RFI 290 and Interwest's Serial Letter 051 dated August 2"d, 2019.
Interwest's proposed price includes the following clarifications:
• The material quotation is based upon a good faith estimated price for supply of a system
up to the listed footage. Final system design will not be completed until a Change Order
is authorized and therefore material cost will not be finalized until that time. Interwest and
Electric West reserve the right to request additional compensation if material costs increase
once the final design is completed. Any such request would be clearly presented with
invoice documentation to substantiate the request.
• No representation is made that the proposed system meets the Engineer's performance
specifications set forth in RFI 290 response item #2. The manufacturer's input has been
solicited but the Engineer is to determine if this system meets the Engineer's requirements.
• A Buy America compliant product has not been found for this application but it is unlikely
that the materials will contain significant amounts of foreign steel. If the designed system
includes greater than the contractually allowed 0.01% foreign steel based on the value of
this Change Order, the City is to fund this Change order in a manner that does not impact
Interwest's contractually allowed foreign steel quantity for the Project.
• Sales tax has been included on materials
Interwest proposes the following pricing for these changed conditions:
• Supply and install Heat Trace System $23,500.00 Lump Sum
TOTAL $ 23,500.00 Lump Sum
609 N.Hill Blvd. Burlington,WA 98233
www.interwest.biz
Ph: (360)757-7574 Fax:(360)757-7574
Contractor License INTERCI121 OF
1 of 2
