CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> iDIVISION 8 — MISCELLANEOUS CONSTRUCTION <br /> 8-01 EROSION CONTROL <br /> 8-01.1 Description <br /> Revise the first paragraph in 8-01.1 to read as follows: <br /> ' This Work consists of furnishing, installing, maintaining, removing and disposing of high <br /> visibility fence, and water pollution and erosion control items in accordance with the <br /> Standard Specifications, these Special Provisions, as shown in the Plans, as shown on <br /> COE Standard Drawings, or as designated by the Engineer. <br /> 8-01.3 Construction Requirements <br /> ' 8-01.3(1) General <br /> Delete the first through eighth paragraphs and substitute the following: <br /> The Contractor shall install a high visibility fence along the site preservation lines <br /> ' shown in the Plans or as instructed by the Engineer. <br /> Throughout the life of the project, the Contractor shall preserve and protect the <br /> delineated area, acting immediately to repair or restore any fencing damaged or <br /> ' removed. <br /> Controlling pollution, erosion, runoff, and related damage requires the Contractor <br /> to perform temporary Work items including but not limited to: <br /> ' 1. Providing ditches, berms, culverts, and other measures to control surface <br /> water. <br /> 2. Building dams, settling basins, energy dissipaters, and other measures, <br /> to control downstream flows. <br /> 3. Controlling underground water found during construction. <br /> 4. Covering or otherwise protecting slopes and stockpiles until permanent <br /> ' erosion-control measures are working. <br /> To the degree possible, the Contractor shall coordinate this temporary Work with <br /> permanent drainage and erosion control Work the Contract requires. <br /> All sediment control devices including, but not limited to, sediment ponds, perimeter <br /> silt fencing, or other sediment trapping BMPs shall be installed prior to any ground <br /> disturbing activity. Clearing, grubbing, excavation, borrow, or fill within the Right of <br /> Way shall never expose more erodible earth than as listed below: <br /> Western Washington Eastern Washington <br /> (West of the Cascade Mountain (East of the Cascade Mountain <br /> Crest) Crest) <br /> May 1 through 17 Acres April 1 through 17 Acres <br /> September 30 October 31 <br /> October 1 through <br /> April 30 5 Acres November 1 through <br /> March 31 5 Acres <br /> 8-01.3(1)A Submittals <br /> Revise 8-01.3(1)A to read as follows: <br /> The Contractor shall prepare and submit a Temporary Erosion and Sediment <br /> Control (TESC) Plan consisting of a narrative section and plan sheets meeting <br /> the requirements of Chapter 2 of the DCSS. <br /> The Contractor may adopt the TESC measures indicated in the Drawings in <br /> preparing the TESC Plan. The Contractor shall complete and modify the TESC <br /> Plan to meet the Contractor's schedule and method of construction. All TESC <br /> Plans shall meet the requirements of the current edition of the Department of <br /> Ecology's Stormwater Management Manual for Western Washington and be <br /> Watermain Replacement"U" Division 8—MISC CONSTRUCTION October 1, 2019 <br /> WO No.—UP3698 SP—189 <br />
