Amendment No. 1 <br /> Interlocal Cooperative Agreement Between the City of Everett and <br /> Everett Public Schools Concerning the <br /> School Resource Officer Program <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett("City") and Everett Public Schools ("District") entered <br /> into an Interlocal Agreement on September 12,2018, through which the parties set forth certain <br /> agreements with respect to the District's school resource officer program; and <br /> WHEREAS the parties now wish to amend the Interlocal Agreement to update and <br /> clarify certain reporting requirements; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the terms, conditions or obligations and mutual <br /> benefits of this Amendment, IT IS MUTUALLY AGREED THAT: <br /> 1. Section 1,Paragraph D. of the September 12, 2018,Interlocal Agreement, shall be wholly <br /> replaced and AMENDED as follows: <br /> The City and the District agree to a regular reporting system that will include reports two <br /> (2)times per year, either in writing or through in-person meetings,by the City's Police <br /> Department to the District including activities performed by the SROs at their respective <br /> schools.Any in-person meetings may include the District Superintendent or designee, <br /> Youth Services Sergeant, or other appropriate staff. However,the District <br /> Superintendent shall remain accessible to meet with the Youth Services Sergeant or other <br /> City personnel at any mutually agreeable time and date. This reporting system may be <br /> modified by the mutual written agreement of the parties. Further, as required by RCW <br /> 28A.320.124(2)(c), annually the parties shall work together to collect and report data <br /> regarding calls for law enforcement service and the outcome of each call, including <br /> student arrest and referral for prosecution, disaggregated by school, offense type,race, <br /> gender, age, and students who have an individualized education program or plan <br /> developed under section 504 of the federal rehabilitation act of 1973. <br /> 2. Section 1, Paragraph E. of the September 12, 2018, Interlocal Agreement, shall be wholly <br /> replaced and AMENDED as follows: <br /> The City and the District agree to meet at least twice a year to discuss the Program and its <br /> benefits and shortcomings in an effort to modify the Program to provide the best possible <br /> service to the City and the District. These meetings may include the Superintendent or <br /> designee,the City Mayor or designee, and other appropriate staff. <br /> 3. Other Terms and Conditions Remain Unchanged. Except as modified by this <br /> Amendment,the terms and conditions of the September 12,2018, Interlocal Agreement <br /> shall remain in full force and effect as written. <br /> /// <br /> /// <br /> 4 <br />
