6. Entry Level Firefighter Probationary Period <br /> Entry Level Firefighters who begin City employment prior to attending the fire academy will <br /> complete at 12 month probationary period that begins on the first day of the academy that they <br /> graduate. Qualifications for Educational Incentive under Article 20 of the contract will occur after <br /> the 12 month probationary period has been completed. <br /> Regardless of their probationary duration and academy start date, all new employees will follow <br /> the salary schedule steps in Article 9. <br /> For promotional testing purposes,the minimum periods of time in service required to be <br /> completed prior to being eligible to take promotional examinations will be based off the first day <br /> of probation(not the employees actual date of hire). <br /> 28 <br />
