The project proposes replacing the existing 31-year old <br /> roof of each tank. Further degradation could affect water quality. <br /> The City received four Statements of Qualifications from qualified firms interested in performing this <br /> project. These firms were short-listed to three with proposals requested from them. Upon reviewing and <br /> scoring the three proposals, Shearer and Associates,Inc.received the highest score. The City has <br /> successfully completed Contract negotiations with Shearer and Associates, Inc.to include interior and <br /> exterior lighting upgrade, 5 year extended warranty and an additional cable tie for roof access safety. The <br /> final negotiated Design-Build Contract Price is $4,569,715,which is exclusive of sales tax. The sales tax <br /> that applies to this project amounts to an additional $420,414,bringing the total expenditure to $4,990,129. <br /> The project is scheduled to start September 2014 and be completed by June 2015. <br /> The "Budget Remaining" amount of$95,577 is arrived at by deducting the Contract amount,the sales tax, <br /> the Design-Build advisor consultant contract for$212,294, and the $2,000 advertising request from the <br /> $5,300,000 amount budgeted. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Award the Design-Build Contract for construction of Reservoir 6 Roof Replacement to Shearer and <br /> Associates, Inc. in the amount of$4,569,715.00,plus Washington State Sales Tax. <br /> 23 <br />
