In accordance with our geotechnical study, all foundations (including the deck piers and proposed retaining walls) will need to be excavated and overexcavated to bear on the medium-dense native sands beneath the fill soils at the site. Our engineers should be called to the site to verify the bearing conditions at the time of foundation excavation. In our judgment, considering the above comments, the proposed plans conform to the recommendations in our geotechnical engineering report.
