EVERETT <br /> WASHINGTON <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3722-20 <br /> An ORDINANCE Relating to Emergency Medical Services,amending Ordinance 3205-10,as amended <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> A. Since 1974 the Fire Department has been providing emergency medical services. <br /> B. The Fire Department provides both Basic Life Support ("BLS") and Advanced Life Support ("ALS") <br /> emergency medical services during the transport of patients. Pursuant to Chapter EMC 5.72.210, <br /> the Fire Department is authorized to set its transport service fees at rates that cover the actual <br /> costs incurred in providing the services. This ordinance updates the transport service fees to <br /> reflect current costs. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1. Section 1.N of Ordinance 3205-10, as amended (codified at EMC 5.72.210), is amended <br /> as follows, with strikeouts deleted and underlined text added: <br /> N. Fire Department Transport Fee Imposed. Fire department transport fees shall be as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. Patients for whom the fire department provides ALS 1 transport shall be billed 3+x <br /> eight hundred a -#ems ninety dollars per transport,the cost of the medical supplies used in <br /> the transport, and fifteen dollars and forty two cents eighteen dollars and fifty cents per mile. <br /> For the purposes of this subsection, "ALS 1" means the following: <br /> Transportation by ground ambulance vehicle and the provision of medically necessary supplies <br /> and services, including the provision of an ALS assessment or at least one ALS intervention, <br /> which means a procedure that is, pursuant to state and local laws, beyond the scope of practice <br /> of an emergency medical technician—basic(EMT—basic). <br /> 2. Patients for whom the fire department provides ALS 2 transport shall be billed eight <br /> nine hundred eighty dollars per transport,the cost of the medical supplies used in the transport, <br /> and fifteen dollars and forty two cents eighteen dollars and fifty cents per mile.
