Snohomish County Fire-based Transport Rates
Proposed BLS and Mileage Rates Background
The proposed rates for BLS transport and mileage are based on rates charged by other agencies
in Snohomish County (Table 1, above). The average rate for BLS is $677.28 and this has been
rounded up for the proposed amount of$680. At this rate, the EFD's relative rate would rank
eighth out of seventeen in Snohomish County. The average rate for mileage is $18.48, which
has been rounded up to the proposed rate of$18.50. Again, this rate would place the EFD's
relative rank at eighth of seventeen.
Proposed ALS1 and ALS2 Rates Background
The proposed rates for ALS1 and ALS2 are based on the average of comparable fire-based
transport agencies in Snohomish, King, and Pierce Counties (Table 2, following page). For
comparative purposes, most agencies were included if they were within the boundaries of 50%
to 200% range of the population of the City of Everett. Three agencies (Puget Sound RFA, South
Snohomish Fire & Rescue, and Lake Stevens Fire) fell outside of these boundaries but were
included based on proximity to range boundaries or proximity to Everett. The average ALS1
transport rate is $886.95, which has been rounded up to a proposed amount of$890. At this
rate, the EFD's relative rate would rank fourth out of nine agencies. The average ALS2 transport
rate is $981.84, which has been rounded down to $980. At this rate, the EFD's relative rate
INN
