R106.1.1 Information on construction documents — Please see the attached
schematic showing the location and placement of the new hot tub on the existing
deck. The schematic was created based off of dimensions taken during a
8/6/2019 site visit. Strengthening would occur only at joists below the hot tub if
necessary per response #2.
2. The strength of the existing joists have been checked with the new increased hot
tub loading. No reinforcements are required to increase the strength of the
joists. See the attached calculations.
3. Per response #2, no strengthening is required.
4. The"deck beam supports"shown on plan are existing concrete supports, see
attached pictures from the site visit. Upon inspection, the concrete "support" has
adequate soil bearing to take the additional hot tub loading. Additionally,
blocking has been called out over the concrete support to address any
anticipated rotation from the additional load, see detail JB.
If you have any questions or require additional information,Aease call.
