FY 2014 BVP funds became available earlier this year for purchase of compliant armored <br /> vests ordered on or after April 1,2014. Upon approval,the Everett Police Department will submit for <br /> funding to cover the maximum of fifty percent of the cost of 69 National Institute of Justice compliant vests. <br /> The total cost of the 69 vests is$49,635.78;therefore,the EPD applied for$24,682.89. <br /> RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br /> Authorize the Mayor to approve the application for FY 2014 Bulletproof Vest Partnership award funding <br /> from the United States Department of Justice and to sign the necessary documents in the event of an award. <br /> 85 <br />
