<br /> Female Employees -a similar class of apparel for women as outlined for men above will be
<br /> appropriate.
<br /> The Chief of Police may allow for more casual attire at designated times. The casual attire would
<br /> include casual slacks and a collared shirt without a tie.
<br /> The wearing of utility clothing, e.g.T-shirts, sweatshirts, flannel shirts, Levi's,tennis shoes,etc.,
<br /> for special assignments and extraordinary situations will be at the discretion of the Division
<br /> Captain.
<br /> All non-uniformed Officers will be reimbursed up to 60%of the current clothing allowance for
<br /> the first 6 calendar months of the year and the balance for the last 6 calendar months. The total
<br /> amount of clothing allowance is prorated as determined by the length of the plain-clothes
<br /> assignment each calendar year. Clothing allowance will be determined by current contractual
<br /> agreements.
<br /> When appearing in Superior Court or other formal hearing, officers must wear one of the
<br /> following sets of clothing:
<br /> Male Officers
<br /> Regulation Police Class "A"Uniform,
<br /> Business suit with dress shirt and tie,
<br /> Sport coat,trouser, and appropriate shirt and tie.
<br /> Female Officers
<br /> Regulation Police Class"A"Uniform,
<br /> Woman's business or pants suit,
<br /> Attire limited to business-like dress or skirt with appropriate accessories.
<br /> Note: On-duty officers may wear the class"B"uniform to court proceedings.This is to include
<br /> both male and female officers.
<br /> 6.4 PROTECTIVE VESTS
<br /> Officers assigned to administrative and investigative duty(primarily plain clothes) are
<br /> encouraged to wear the protective vest but it is at the discretion of the immediate supervisor; it
<br /> must be available at the department for instant use if necessary.
<br /> The protective vest shall be worn when executing search warrants and making planned arrests.
<br /> •
<br /> It is the policy of the Everett Police Department that all officers in uniform will wear a protective
<br /> vest with both front and back panels.
<br /> EXCEPTION: Medical conditions may preclude the wearing of a vest but must be verified in
<br /> writing by a physician submitted through the Chain of Command.
