Hazardous Materials Technician Team members who promote to the rank <br /> of Battalion Chief will be required to attend, satisfactorily complete, attain <br /> and retain certification in Hazardous Materials Incident Command as well <br /> as all other required Hazardous Materials Technician team training in <br /> order to remain on the team. <br /> 4. Those employees who occupy a Hazardous Material Team position and <br /> who accept a non-suppression position within the department will not be <br /> eligible for team membership during their non-suppression assignment. <br /> Upon their return to suppression they will be eligible for reassignment to <br /> the team regardless of their rank. These employees will be reassigned to <br /> the team as positions become available in the order they returned to <br /> suppression. Those non-suppression employees with prior team <br /> membership, and those who have returned to suppression and are <br /> waiting for a team opening will be eligible for ongoing overtime <br /> competency training. <br /> B. Haz/Mat Tech training will be part of and in accordance with Snohomish County <br /> Haz/Mat Team Standards. <br /> 1. Haz/Mat Team members not meeting the annual requirement for any <br /> other reason other than long-term disability will be de-certified and <br /> Haz/Mat specialty pay will be terminated. <br /> 2. Haz/Mat Team members will be required to attend and satisfactorily <br /> complete one County training session per quarter as scheduled by the <br /> Snohomish County Joint Operations Board. <br /> 3. Haz/Mat Team members with specialty positions within the Hazardous <br /> materials team shall also attend and satisfactorily complete specific <br /> training for designated positions as listed in the Snohomish County <br /> Hazardous Materials And Weapons of Mass Destruction Suggested <br /> Operating Guidelines. <br /> 4. Haz/Mat Team members not meeting their annual requirement due to <br /> long term disability will be assigned to day shifts in Training upon their <br /> return to work in order to complete the missed training or an equivalent <br /> alternative. <br /> 5. Haz/Mat Team members are eligible for up to a maximum of 40 hours <br /> overtime per year to the Haz/Mat Tech or their replacement if the <br /> Technician is released from duty for off-shift training. For the purposes of <br /> this Article, overtime for employees attending off-shift Haz/Mat training <br /> will not be on the member's overtime record as per Article 13 of the <br /> Collective Bargaining Agreement.
