I_\ ,INI.I_.I r"(
Date: April 11,2018
Project: 5816 Wetmore Ave
Everett, WA 98203 C )1 12--0 42--
Subject: Structural Observation for fire damage
Wade Damey,P.E. of AWB Engineering, Inc. has been hired by Parris Brashear, Seattle
Construction Group to do a structural observation for fire damage to an existing structure
located at the address above. The structural observation was performed on April 4th,
2018 at approximately 11am. There was an initial structural observation performed on
November 2nd',2017. The following structural observations were made:
1) The back portion of the existing structures foundation has little to no existing
footing. It appears that this was an addition to the original house. The footing will
need to be removed and replaced per the revised structural drawings to comply
with current code requirements.
2) The existing floor framing post supports are in contact with concrete and not
directly attached to footing or beams. Revised drawing set indicates new pressure
treated posts with post bases and post to beam caps.
3) The existing sill plate is untreated and in direct contact with concrete stemwall. It
is required by code to be pressure treated and attached to existing stemwall with
expansion anchors and plate washers. See attached revised drawing set indicating
additional structural revisions to meet current code requirements.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office.
Regards,
i1
Wade A.
