It
consists of the i;ems shown below. The tension created bythe
40 Ib. spring is reduced to 20 Ibs. by the load reducing lever.
The mechanieal control box discharges the cylindar when
(1) a fusible link operates, (?) the pull pin is removed from the
control box or (3) the pull pin is removed trom the remotc
manualrelease.
The mechanical contral hox can oF: rate a mechanical gas
valve and alo is designed to accommodate single and double
switches (f,PDT or DPDT).
The res>t tool is designedto set the control head leverto fts
proper oositica with a minimum ot eBort. The keeper pin is 6"
long and is inserted in the control head so that the cabletension
can be applied to the detection line while the control head lever
is locked in place. The keeper pin will not allow the door on the
mechanical control boz to close while it is in position. IT HAS
BEEN DESIGNED IN THIS MANNERTO INSURETHATYOU
WONT LEAVE THE JOB SITE WI7H THE KEEPEA PIN
INSTALLED IN THE CO;TROL HEAD. THE SYSTEM IS
INOPERATIVE WITH THE KEEPER PIN INSTALLED IN
THE MECHANICAL CONTROL HEAD.
U.L EX 2458
r.n =-^:r,^
eor
Assembly of Mechanieal Control Box
Assembly of the Mechanicai Control Eox is simple
and easy. Reter to page M-10 & M-11 for a detailed
iliustration of the control box and its' components. Assem-
bly instructions are provided with each Mechanical Cantrol
Box. The tollowing is a general outline af assembly
requirements:
1. Begin by insuring that ail necessary compo-
nents are enciosed with your control box unit.
2. Affuc the Knob wRh screw supplied to the frant
cover af the control box. Apply the supplied Iabeis to the
outside and inside of the controi box enclosure as incated.
3. Remove the flat washer and lock nut'.rom the
control head assembly hody. Insert the ihreaded portion of
the control head body through the 1.33 Dia. hole in the
enclosure. Insure that the control head is oriented as
shown in the illustretion. Fastened in piace with the flat
washer and lock nut. NOTE: insure that the washer is on
the outside of the enclasure.
4. Instzll actuating spring as shown on M-10.
5. Install pvot bolt so that it passes through the
load reducing lever, then the spacer and then threads into
the stud provided in the bottom of the box. See M-10.
NOTE: Care is to be taken to insure that the bolt is not
cross threaded.
6. This completes the assembly of the Meclianical
Control Box, See I-5 for Setting Procedure.
RlDOI MI IIdOYED'/ 10-t IQ]!
