The Water Transmission Line 5 Replacement at the Pilchuck River calls for replacing about <br />400 feet of 51-inch diameter steel water main deeper under the Pilchuck River. <br />The City received four Statements of Qualifications from qualified Design -Build firms interested in <br />performing this project. These firms were short-listed to two, Coluccio Construction and IMCO <br />Construction. Upon reviewing and scoring both proposals, Coluccio Construction received the highest score. <br />The City has successfully completed negotiations with Coluccio Construction at a lump sum price of <br />$3,292,000, which is exclusive of sales tax. The sales tax that applies to this project (8.6%) amounts to an <br />additional $283,112, bringing the total expenditure•to $33575,112. <br />The project is scheduled to be completed by December 2015. <br />The Budget Remaining includes deducting the amount spent to date ($1,572,000), advertising cost ($2,000) <br />and the proposed expenditure amount ($3,575,112) from the Amount Budgeted. <br />RECOMMENDATION (Exact action requested of Council): <br />Award the Design -Build Contract for construction of Transmission Line 5 Replacement Crossing Pilchuck <br />River to Coluccio Construction of Seattle, WA in the amount of $3,575,112.00, including Washington State <br />Sales Tax, and authorize the Mayor to execute the contract for this matter. <br />117 <br />
