1:1 <br />CITY OF EVERETT, WASHINGTON <br />EVERETT POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program <br />(CFDS# 16.738) <br />2014 Local Grant Application <br />Section 4 - Project Abstract <br />PROJECT ABSTRACT <br />The current goal of the Everett Police Department's Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance <br />grant program is to significantly enhance the accountability, efficiency and effectiveness of the <br />entire department including command staff, police patrol, first -responders, detectives, <br />specialty units and support staff. In order to accomplish this goal, the department proposes to <br />purchase the following Lexipol products: the Law Enforcement Policy Manual, Daily Training <br />Bulletins, and Supplemental Publication Service. The department also proposes to purchase <br />five automated external defibrillators, and five underwater dive lights for our marine unit <br />divers. <br />Project Identifiers <br />1. Equipment —General <br />Since all the proposed projects involve software, equipment and/or installation costs, the <br />implementation of the components, described in the program and budget narrative, constitute <br />the deliverables. All of the equipment and software proposed will enhance efficiency, <br />effectiveness, accountability, and officer/public safety. In addition to keeping our officers safer, <br />the purchase of the automated external defibrillators and underwater dive lights will enhance <br />the safety and welfare of the citizens that we serve. <br />Purchase, acquisition, installation and implementation of all funded projects will be managed and <br />coordinated by the police department's Administration and Budget & Finance Division with the <br />assistance of the City of Everett Purchasing Division. <br />92 <br />
